Recognize the people in your life that PLAY FULL OUT!

I received this band from Doug himself. Seeing him speak inspired me as to play full out. Even if things are tough there's always something that can be done.

No one is a better "Play Full Out" example than Mac Anderson. His massive success in business is only surpassed by the quality of his character. He has inspired, motivated, and changed the lives of thousands of employees, customers, family and friends, and everything he does is filled with an abundance of grace, elegance, and kindness. I am proud to call him my friend and I aspire to be more like him in every way.

I was given my band by Doug at a company leadership retreat. We did an exercise where we were challenged to break a 1 inch pine board with our bare hands despite no karate training. The energy in the room as everyone cheered and supported each other was impressive and uplifting — it was a great example of what a supportive team should feel like.

I received my band at the Smith and nephew national sales meeting in Orlando Florida. The guest speaker at our meeting was Doug Hanson. After listening to Doug and his various stories of inspiration and motivation it changed my life. In the 60 minutes of listening to Doug, we laughed, we cheered, we reflected on our personal lives and how we can make simple changes that can improve not only your life but the people's lives around us!! After I received my band, I told my 10 year old daughter the whole story and the meaning behind it and explained that it was something that I would then give away. She was so excited and asked me nearly every day who I was going to give the band to. I kept telling her that I had no idea, but that I would just know who that right person was. My daughter was in her first play when she was 6 years old. She was the cutest munchkin in the Wizard of Oz that I had ever seen (in my biased opinion...)! But what really struck me during the production process was how her director, Miss Tiffany, was with those kids. By show time, everyone of them, all the way down to the 6 year olds, knew exactly where they needed to be and what they needed to do. It was amazing to see how much they learned and knew. And my daughter had the time of her life. So we continued to do plays with Miss Tiffany once or twice a year and this summer was #6. But it was during the #5 production when I just knew. I have gradually gotten to know Tiffany over these last 4-5 years and everything I have learned about her is extraordinary. Tiffany believes that the arts and arts education is essential to our kids - and she has been teaching kids for about 15 years. In every interaction I have seen with the kids (including mine) there is so much love and patience. But she also expects the kids to give everything they have, to participate, and to grow. She engages with the kids, she gives them everything she has, and then she gives them a little more. Tiffany is the kind of person I love working with and spending time with my child. She brings out something really special in her - and I can see that the kids bring out something really special in Tiffany. She is dedicated to them and thrives on the art she is instilling in them. If there is anyone I have ever met that Plays Full Out, who lives what she believes and who is present in all she does, it is Tiffany Tiffany - from the bottom of my heart, thank you for being in our lives. You have touched us and changed us in the best possible way. Jayda and I love you so much!!

I received the band from our project director at work. She gave them to our whole team because she believes that each of us 'play full out' each and every day that we are at work. At my position, I help low income individuals and those who have barriers to employment find positions and help them get additional job training. Every day is an opportunity to work with those who are down on their luck to help them create new paths, dreams, and opportunities to change their lives for the better. Some days are difficult, some cases are worse than others, but I truly believe in our program and the changes that we can create. I am also a dance teacher and I get to spread my passion for dance to the next generation and that is an amazing feeling. I have been dancing since I was six years old and I haven't stopped since. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have been given to teach young kids the art and emotional outlet that dance is. I try to 'play full out' as much as I can every day because you only get one day to make a change. Each morning is a new day. A new chance to either live out your day regretting yesterday or spreading positivity and joy for the day that you have in front of you. I choose to be that positive influence as much as humanly possible. :)
