I gave this band (#41) to the 41st president of the United States, George H. W. Bush when he invited our family to his office in Houston, Texas. My son is the 2014 captain of the Yale Baseball team and President Bush was the Yale baseball team captain 66 years ago, (in 1948), so he invited us to his office to share some stories and wisdom. My son and President Bush talked about baseball and leadership while I enjoyed some conversation with the President about parenting and character. Needless to say, he made a lasting impression on both us. It's been said that you can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can offer nothing for him in return. President Bush treated us like heads of state, knowing all we can offer in return is our reverence and appreciation for a most memorable day. But we can offer one more thing, the promise that the Hanson family will always hold you, Mr. President, as well as your staff and your entire family in the highest regard.
